This is the existing view of the Montlake interchange area. No new SR 520 can be this narrow, as shoulders are required for safety and reliability of the highway. Notice all the green space that is inaccessible, cut off from the public because of ramps. Also notice how far the corridor is from the NOAA Fisheries facility on the far left. This is a marked contrast to the Base 6 alternative.
