This is an artist's view of Pacific Interchange, looking west, with the new Union Bay Bridge crossing what is today a surface parking lot south of Husky Stadium. There, it meets up with Pacific Street.

Notice how there is only one ramp (which is one lane in each direction) to Lake Washington Blvd. This is in contrast to the other SR 520 alternatives that construct two new ramps. There are three ramps now, counting the old, unused ramp. This single ramp steers clear of Foster Island unlike the ramp in the Base 6 alternative. It arrives at the same spot as the ramps today, and can be configured not to bring any additional traffic through the Arboretum with traffic mitigation strategies, including tolling that could fund the Arboretum Master Plan.

The structure in the Arboretum will be much, much smaller than this as the WSDOT team has figured out how to shrink this by 200 feet since this rendering was done. And by adjusting shoulders, it can get tighter still.
